What is the Invisible Trait?

The Invisible Trait—also known as Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS)—is a biologically-based temperament trait found in approximately 20-30% of the population. Those with this trait are often called High Sensory People (HSPs).

The Invisible Trait is characterized by:

  • Deep processing of information

  • Heightened awareness of sensory input

  • Strong empathy and emotional responsiveness

  • Increased sensitivity to subtleties in the environment

  • Greater susceptibility to overstimulation

  • From pioneering research by Elaine Aron, Ph.D

Why it Matters:

High Sensory People are often the deep thinkers, creative minds, peacekeepers, and visionaries of the world. With understanding and the right tools, this trait becomes a strength.

To feel deeply is not a weakness. It is a gift—an instrument of insight, connection, and change.
